WATCH CARE

Like any high-precision instrument, a watch needs regular servicing to ensure that it functions perfectly. We cannot indicate the frequency of such work, since it depends entirely on the model, the climate and the owner’s individual care of the watch.

It is important to regularly service your watch. As a general rule, a watch should be serviced every 4 to 5 years, depending on the conditions in which it is used.
In order to preserve watch characteristics in the long-term, we recommend users to:

USER GUIDE

We invite yoto read with greatcare the user guide and follow the maintenance instructions of your watch.

TIGHTNESS

Have watch water-resistance checked by an authorised watchmaker once a year or each time the watch is opened.

MANUAL WINDING WATCHES

Wind the watch once a day, preferably in the morning.

BRACELET

Ensure the watch bracelet is suitable for the anticipated use and that it is correctly adjusted to wrist size at the time of purchase.

LEATHER BRACELET

Avoid contact with water and dampness to prevent discoloration and deformation.
Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent the color from fading.
The eather is permeable! Therefore avoid contact with greasy substances and cosmetic products. It is not advisable to clean your strap with leather cleaners.

SHOCKS

Avoid all watch impacts and shocks (have water-resistance checked after a severe shock). Avoid wearing the watch during activities that may generate strong and repeated vibrations. Avoid wearing a jewel on the same wrist as the watch.

MAGNETIC FIELDS

Avoid exposing mechanical watches to magnetic fields (electronic units) as this may disturb watch settings.

SCREW-IN-CROWN

Screw down the crown carefully to prevent water from penetrating the mechanism.

NON SCREW-DOWN CROWN

Push it back into the neutral position to prevent water from penetrating the mechanism.

SUBMERSION IN SEA WATER OR POOL

Rinse always your watch with warm water afterwards. Not use control functions, pushers or the time setting crown under water or out of water if the watch is not dry.

CLEANING

For metal bracelets and water-resistant cases, use a toothbrush with soapy water and a soft cloth for drying.

TEMPERATURES

Avoid extreme tem peratures above 60°C or 140°F below 0°C or 32°F or extreme temperature changes.

CHEMICAL PRODUCTS

Avoid direct contact with solvents, detergents, perfumes, cosmetic products etc., since they may damage the bracelet, the case or the gaskets.
